Acknowledging Your Gifts

You are the key to our continuing effort to be recognized as a community leader by delivering superior healthcare through a team of dedicated professionals in a friendly, compassionate, and growing environment. Your gift to the Mercer Foundation for Health Capital Campaign will help us raise $1 million toward the cost of the project to upgrade and modernize its facility while expanding its services. The planned renovations will increase inpatient safety, privacy, and comfort. Delivery of patient care will benefit from ease of access while ensuring privacy and confidentiality. We gratefully acknowledge your support, which both reinforces the success of today's campaign and opens possibilities for future projects. In accordance with your wishes and donation amount, we will acknowledge your donation in one of several ways.

1.  Mercer Foundation for Health acknowledges the generosity of campaign donors in the community at large. The Foundation names its donors, without listing amounts, in "thank-you" advertisements or postings. The announcement of campaign gifts also encourages others to participate in community efforts by acknowledging generous and widespread support.

2.  The Foundation awards permanent recognition to donors whose campaign gifts are $500 or more. For more detail, please read the Undesignated Giving section that follows.

3.  Mercer Foundation for Health invites donors to choose a Designated Giving Opportunity, whether it is a room, area, or some other aspect of the project. If you are interested in such a legacy, please read the section on Designated Giving.

4.  The Foundation encourages donors to choose an appropriate form of recognition so that we may show our sincere gratitude for campaign contributions. We respect and honor the wishes of those who choose to remain anonymous.

UNDESIGNATED GIVING OPPORTUNITIES

An undesignated campaign gift allows the donor to honor or memorialize a special person. Gifts of $500 or more are acknowledged within our donor recognition system. Donor names are displayed prominently in a central, high-traffic area within the Hospital facility in accordance with the following schedule:

Pace-Setting Gifts               $ 25,000+

Advance Gifts                      $ 12,000+

Major Gifts                          $ 5,000+

Primary Gifts                       $ 1,000+

Community Gifts                 $ 500+

DESIGNATED GIVING OPPORTUNITIES

Legacies and memorials are meaningful symbols of enduring communities. Mercer Foundation for Health recognizes the importance of leaving such signs of lasting significance for future generations and invites your participation in Designated Giving.

A designated campaign gift allows the donor to dedicate a room or an area for commemoration. Some donors choose to name a room or an area in honor of their grandparents, parents, or a child who has passed on; others choose to honor a person who has influenced their lives; others may choose to honor and recognize a business or industry of significance to the community.

You may choose an area (or areas) with a designated value equal to or less than the amount of your gift. Not all rooms have been designated with a gift value, but special arrangements can be made should you wish to name an undesignated area. The assigned value for each designated giving opportunity does not match either the cost of construction or the equipping of any given area. All available designated giving opportunities are advertised and circulated among prospective donors during the campaign.

While some recognition plaques may be included in a specific commemoration area, most contributors are included on a donor recognition wall, in a central and well-trafficked area within the Hospital. Donor wishes are followed with regard to the unveiling of memorials and designated commemorative gifts. Substantial gifts are subject to consideration and approval by the Board of Directors.

Designated commemorative opportunities are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Prospective donors wishing to discuss specific opportunities are invited to call the Mercer Foundation for Health Office at (309) 582-0970.
